At Block Financial Resources, we offer an increasingly rare and unbiased approach to helping you find your mortgage loan. In an industry dominated by big banks, BFR believes strongly in our Mortgage Broker model. Our commissions do not vary borrower to borrower with our lenders, and BFR’s digital process allows us to reduce the costs typically associated with getting a mortgage. This rare combination of technology and transparency allows us to provide our clients with lower rates and greater service.
Our motives are pure. We want to match you with the best lender for your scenario and to provide elite service in doing so. While offering a digital process, you will have an assigned loan officer who ensures your process is handled smoothly from beginning to end.
We strive to offer each client their own customized experience. The entire process can be handled online, in person, over-the-phone, or using a combination of the above. We understand each of our clients’ needs differ and can change day-to-day.

The founder of Block Financial Resources, Sean Bloch, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003 with a degree in Economics. Shortly after graduating, Sean quickly emerged as a top-producing mortgage broker in the Manhattan-area through a relentless work ethic and a customer-first approach. After four years of experience as a mortgage broker, mortgage banker, sales manager and processor, Sean created Block Financial Resources in March of 2008.
The financial crisis was at its peak and Sean saw an opportunity to step into a market when mortgage companies had lost the trust of the public. The company was built with the intention of providing low fees and rates, coupled with elite service. Sean started the company from a small walk-up apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and has seen the company grow exponentially every year it’s been in business.
